Carl Christian Vogel von Vogelstein (26 June 1788, Wildenfels – 4 March 1868, Munich), German painter of portraits, landscapes, and religious subjects.  Stylistically, he endeavored to find a balance between the Classicism and Romanticism which were then the prevailing schools.
