The man who photographed under the name Les Demi-Dieux (the demi-gods) has long been considered one of the most artistic and certainly the most mysterious of the classic physique photographers. Only recently identified as Danny Fitzgerald, he lived and worked in Brooklyn - where his images were taken in the early 1960s - and apparently died in 2000, but there is still very little known about his life.
Orest in a somber mood in the first photo taken in a villa. In the last photo Orest is posed at a cemetery headstone that makes him to appear to be a fallen angel.

Orest was Fitzgerald’s first muse that he adored, and was despondent when the 18 year old youth was drafted into the Army right after these images were photographed ca.1960.
Fitzgerald was not lonely for long as a new muse appeared in the form
of his model Richard Bennett, who became his work associate for their studio Les Demi-Dieux, lover and life long companion until Fitzgerald died.
