With his brother through the lens - photographs of Jenő Kertész by André Kertész, 1917-20

Jenő was the youngest of the three Kertész brothers; Imre was the oldest, André - born Andor - the middle. Imre would remain in their home town of Budapest all his life, working at the Stock Exchange. André emigrated to Paris in 1925, where he was soon met with critical and commercial success, while Jenő emigrated to Argentina; André and Jenő - the model for so much of the photographer's early work - would not see each other again for almost forty years.
