Three nuns of the Throckmorton family by Largillière

These three ladies were all nuns of the English Augustinian Convent of Notre-Dame-de-Sion in Paris, the house of the Augustinian canonesses called the "Filles Anglaises".  They were all relatives of Sir Robert Throckmorton, 4th Bt., who commissioned them from Largillière in 1729.

Remarkably, though now resident on three different continents, all three have retained their original, identical frames.
