I've featured Grand Duke Michael - Misha - in
several blog posts over the years, including a full,
two-part biography. He's long been my favorite Romanov, and I'm delighted to see him in these images - at the age of about twenty, probably taken at Gatchina - being charmingly foolish, burning off a youthful overabundance of energy.
