John Howard Payne (23 May 1912, Roanoke – 6 December 1989, Malibu), American film actor best remembered for his appearances in Film Noir crime stories, 20th-Century Fox musicals, and for his leading role in Miracle on 34th Street. Born into a well-to-do family, he attended prep school and, after that, Roanoke College before... hey, you're not even paying attention...! OK, never mind.... Enjoy the pictures!

ReplyDeleteActress Joan Collins was once a guest on "The Tonight Show" when Joan Rivers was hosting. They got to talking about teenage crushes, and Joan Collins revealed that she had been obsessed with a handsome movie star, wrote him endless fan letters, but he had never replied. It was...John Payne!
I've seen Dodsworth, but I can't say I remember him. And I have to confess that I've never found him at all interesting - except - in these pictures. Aren't I awful...! ; )
DeleteSitting in the ring with his legs spread is the sexiest, most lust inspiring pose I've ever seen. The beauty and vulnerability of the inside of his thighs and where they lead the eyes too.... Excellent, provocative photography that would not be indulged today, unfortunately. I am a woman who cannot stop going back over and over again to look at him. I hope to get a very large print to frame and hang over my bed. Wouldn't that be beautiful.
