Giovanni Baglione (1566, Rome – 30 December 1643, Rome), Late Mannerist and Early Baroque Italian painter - mainly of religious and mythological subjects - and art historian. He is perhaps best remembered for his public rivalry with and libel suit against Caravaggio.
