Ernest Boulton and Frederick William Park - Stella and Fanny

Stella and Fanny

Thomas Ernest Boulton, aka Stella (1848, Tottenham, Middlesex - 1904, Holborn, Middlesex) and Frederick William Park, aka Fanny (circa 1848 - 1881), cross-dressers and theatrical performers and, along with Lord Arthur Pelham-Clinton (June 23, 1840 – June 18, 1870), defendants in a celebrated trial in London in 1871.  Their story and that of the trial is fascinating, but far too lengthy for me to cover here so, just this once, I'll let Wikipedia do the heavy lifting for me.

Park, "Fanny", in the rear; Boulton, "Stella", on the right; and Lord Clinton, seated in the chair.
Stella in and out of female attire.
Fanny, in an example of Victorian multitasking, holding a croquet mallet and a book.
Stella, from a carte-de-visite.
Fanny in toilette de bal.
