Fantastic to read your grandmother's words and see these photos! Thanks for sharing. Kohlsaat, "Treasurer of Bullard Brothers" to Miss Marjorie Bullard; so he married into the business. It's possible I have distant relatives in the St. Paul area, but I don't think so; I think my grandmother's people all moved away from the area, and she was an only child. What more can you tell me about your uncle? Did he have a happy life? I'd love to know more about him. : )

I think the woman in the photograph with your uncle looks like someone around his age - I think her face is just scrunched up from the sun - did he have a sister? Thanks so much for asking though. And so good to know the building still survives and is being cared for. : )Stephiliushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08562830870365561419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4807469356676934317.post-11826138305011817482017-03-30T12:59:17.257-07:002017-03-30T12:59:17.257-07:00He l l o,

The pin possibly could have been a gift from him. Ernie then took over the store for his Father. I came across your blog while searching for ancestry info. Do you still have relatives in St. Paul? I worked with a lovely woman who was the science teacher at a local preschool. That would be a interesting coincidence.
I loved these photos! I was so surprised to see my uncle with your beautiful Grandma. I feel like the woman was either Ernie's Grandmother or a relative, because she looks like my Grandmother (his Mother).
Thank you for sharing these!
N. B. KohlsaatN. B. My parents currently own the apartment buildings which used to be Oak Hall School in St. Paul, MN.

We have a few of the yearbooks from the school days -- 1926, 1927, & 1928. Would your grandmother have a different last name than "Foster" if she was at the school any of these years we have books? I could look her up if you'd like.

Cheers, Alisa Alisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13871240470722185691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4807469356676934317.post-11268181904150334242014-12-02T09:00:00.762-08:002014-12-02T09:00:00.762-08:00Lovely.Lovely.Gigi Littlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10131015556565657324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4807469356676934317.post-66402492792173385222014-12-02T08:22:54.364-08:002014-12-02T08:22:54.364-08:00how lovely to have the photographs and diary toget...how lovely to have the photographs and diary together - plus the broach!!
Such an intriguing story- thanks for sharing it with us.
